Advert description
I have 9 9s and 1 8 in my GCSEs, and am currently studying toward my A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I believe that understanding is the best way to learn STEM subjects, and what separates the average student from the exceptional student is this application of understood concepts to new question types. In an era where exams are getting harder it is becoming more and more important to shift from blind memorisation to deep understanding. While memorisation is key to learning some topics in science, understanding can help secure topics into your long term memory, giving you peace of mind that you have topics locked into your mind. An important learning tool is also past papers, which I plan to integrate into lessons, doing starter past paper questions on a variety of topics, helping keep all the topics, even those learnt earlier in the course, fresh in your brain. I aim to create a friendly and engaging environment where students are free to ask all types of questions that they need answered and not feel that lessons are a bore. What makes me stand out is how I explain complex ideas in a clear, simple way that actually makes sense — and adapt my style to each student’s pace and learning preference. Having just completed my GCSEs last summer, I know how to align lessons with exam board requirements, build strong foundations, and provide targeted support using exam-style questions and personalised feedback. With the right approach, I believe anyone can succeed in maths or any science — and even enjoy it along the way.
