I start my teaching with tabula rasa. I make sure that I do not assume learning of previous concepts unless subject area is of higher level. In my current city, learning gap is high. Thus, I manage teaching by starting with the foundational concepts up to the recent one. I know how to check for gaps in learning- comprehension, insufficient pre-requisite knowledge, misconception, retention gaps, procedural gaps, and motivation/environmental gaps. I am very familiar with assessment for learning, assessment of learning, and assessment as learning. Whenever time allows, I apply all for better learning. I am equipped with questioning strategies, and I integrate values and themes in my lessons.
