Patient, encouraging primary maths tutor helping children build confidence, master key skills, and enjoy learning.

Advert description
I'm a friendly, patient primary school maths tutor who makes learning enjoyable and stress-free. If your child has ever come home from school feeling frustrated by numbers or if you've watched them lose confidence over a tricky topic, you'll know how quickly maths can become a source of anxiety rather than excitement. My role is to change that. I believe every child can succeed at maths when they're taught in a way that suits them and my goal is to make every session something your child looks forward to rather than dreads. I specialise in Key Stage 1 and 2, which means I work with children from their very first steps in counting and number recognition right through to the more challenging concepts they'll meet in Year 6. Over the years, I've supported children across the full range of primary maths topics. We might spend a session mastering times tables until they're fluent and confident, break down fractions using visual aids and real-life examples until they finally click, or work through problem-solving questions step by step so your child learns how to think mathematically rather than simply memorise answers. I also prepare children for their SATs and other assessments, making sure they know what to expect and feel calm and capable on the day. What makes my tutoring different is that every single session is tailored to your child's pace and learning style. No two children learn in exactly the same way. Some need to see a concept drawn out or demonstrated with objects, others respond best to repetition and practice whilst others need to talk through their thinking out loud before it makes sense. During our first session, I take the time to understand how your child learns, what they find difficult and where their strengths lie. From there, I build a personalised plan that targets their specific gaps while also stretching them where they're ready to go further. I explain things clearly and simply, without jargon and I check understanding at every stage rather than rushing ahead. I use plenty of encouragement because confidence is just as important as competence. When a child believes they can do maths, they try harder, take more risks and learn faster.
