My teaching approach is centred around building confidence and ensuring students fully understand each topic before moving on. I begin by demonstrating and explaining new concepts step by step, answering any questions to make sure everything is clear. We then work through practice questions together without any time pressure, allowing students to focus on understanding rather than speed. Once they feel confident, we move on to timed exam-style questions to develop exam technique. Before progressing to a new topic, I use a short exit ticket to check that key concepts have been understood. Every few weeks, I also include an end-of-unit assessment to revisit previous topics, identify any gaps in knowledge and reinforce learning through spaced retrieval. I believe every student learns at a different pace, so I tailor my lessons to suit each individual's needs rather than rushing through content. Through my volunteering experience working with primary school children, I have developed patience, adaptability and strong communication skills. My experience as Deputy Head Girl has also strengthened my leadership, organisation and ability to support and encourage others in achieving their goals.
