More Than a Tutor—Supporting Confidence, Wellbeing, and Real-Life Skills

Every learner is different—and that’s exactly how it should be. With over 20 years’ experience in education, I’m deeply passionate about supporting students not just academically, but emotionally and personally too. I specialise in Maths, English and EFL, working with children and adults of all abilities, including those with SEN, anxiety, or who feel they don’t quite “fit” traditional education. I truly believe that square pegs don’t belong in round holes—so rather than trying to make students fit a system, I shape my teaching around them, their strengths, and how they learn best. My approach is calm, supportive, and rooted in mental health and wellbeing. I create a safe, encouraging space where students feel heard, understood, and confident to take risks in their learning. Alongside academic support, I help develop essential life skills such as writing CVs and applications, preparing for interviews, managing time, building organisation skills, and even basic budgeting—giving students the tools they need to succeed beyond the classroom. Whether a student needs to rebuild confidence, improve communication, or develop independent learning habits, I focus on small, achievable steps that lead to lasting progress. My goal is simple: to help every learner feel capable, valued, and equipped to move forward in their own unique way.
