I teach boys between the ages of 6 and 12. I've also taught adults in the past. I love teaching ?? I'm patient and we cover interesting stories until the student understands each word. I ask questions about the story and then we play a game of scrabble to break the monotonous. After the game we go back to the stories. We read thru it again and the student answers written questions from a workbook. We go thru the questions and answers together to make sure the student understands what they have learnt. If I am happy with the students progress we have a question and answer session with any help from the books. If I'm satisfied that the student completely understands ?? the story I explain next days lesson plan and what we will do.
I also like to teach English they Snap a card game.. Word's are written on cards and pictures match words. The student deals the cards and I have a pack and they have a pack. If two cards turn up simultaneously and the student shouts snap we'll the student gets the cards. The idea is to learn English from the cards and the winning is in the person who has both packs of cards in their hands.
As I already said I also like to play scrabble with my students. I find they learn faster and they understand and retaini the words easier and for longer. I pick words and we put them into sentences. I tell the student to use certain words in essays to make the essays stand out.
