I started my career as a fresh graduate in 2015 I got an appointment initially as a part time teacher at an international school. Since I am a science graduate, I taught subjects like maths, science and English for secondary students. Gradually I became a full time teacher at a different branch of the same school located in one of my neighbouring villages. The medium of instruction was entirely in English . Currently I am teaching at a government school which is located about 150 kilometres away from my home town. I came here as a physics teacher in 2023. At the beginning I had to teach physics for 12th graders and became a member physics teachers’ group in our province with the collaboration of the director of education for science. Sooner I started eagerly taking up extra responsibilities and became the head of the faculty of technology in our school. We maintain a professional body of technology teachers with the collaboration of our in service advisor. I have attended a number of seminars,workshops, training of trainers and maintained a good rapport with the professionals in the field of science education. We launched an innovation club at our school level. Our club was selected as one of the hundred innovation clubs at ‘hundred innovation clubs launching programme’ with the participation of honourable prime minister. Moreover, I continued My Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the University of Colombo, The highest ranking university in Srlanka because of the passionate interest I had in teaching. Where, I would say, I got to know about emerging teaching methods and improved my teaching skills to its next level. Then . Then I continued Postgrad degree in the University of Peradeniya , one the reputed institutions in Sri Lanka.
