Advert description
My approach is to help students understand the reasoning behind maths rather than simply memorising methods. I begin by explaining each concept clearly and then use worked examples and practice questions to check the student’s understanding.
When a student is struggling, I break the problem down into smaller and simpler steps. I also try to identify the specific gap in their knowledge that is preventing them from finding the solution, such as an earlier topic, formula or method they may not fully understand. Once that gap is addressed, I guide them through similar questions until they feel confident solving them independently.
I believe repetition is essential for improving in mathematics. I encourage students to practise different types of questions regularly so that they become familiar with the methods, recognise common patterns and develop stronger problem-solving skills.
With a First-Class degree in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Warwick, I can support students with topics including algebra, calculus, geometry, statistics and problem-solving. My lessons are patient, supportive and adapted to each student’s ability, pace and goals.
