My structure to lessons involve summarising the key topics where the student has gaps on and I do this by either word of mouth(from asking the student/parent) or from testing the students I teach. Next, what I found was key to achieving good grades was to turn the lesson into one where the student cooperatively works with me in order to learn the topic or subtopic(in the case of gaps rather than relearning everything).
