I am an experienced Mathematics teacher with over 9 years of teaching experience and a strong passion for helping students understand Mathematics in a simple, practical, and engaging way. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education and a Diploma in Basic Education, which have given me both strong subject knowledge and professional teaching skills. My areas of expertise include Algebra, Algebraic Fractions, Factorisation, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Probability, Vectors, Pythagoras’ Theorem, Mensuration, Functions, Equations, Graphs, and general mathematical problem-solving. I also help students develop the logical thinking and analytical skills needed to approach unfamiliar Mathematics problems with confidence. My lessons are suitable for Junior High School and Senior High School students, learners preparing for examinations, and students who need additional support with specific Mathematics topics. I can also work with learners who feel that Mathematics is difficult or have struggled with particular concepts in the past. My teaching approach is student-centred. I first identify the learner’s current level, strengths, weaknesses, and learning goals. I then structure lessons around those needs rather than using the same approach for every student. I explain concepts step by step, beginning with simple examples before gradually introducing more challenging questions. During lessons, I encourage students to participate actively instead of simply listening to explanations. I use worked examples, questions, guided practice, real-life applications, diagrams, and problem-solving activities to make abstract mathematical concepts easier to understand. After explaining a topic, I allow the learner to attempt questions independently while I provide guidance where necessary. I also believe that making mistakes is an important part of learning Mathematics. Rather than simply giving students the correct answer, I help them understand where their reasoning went wrong and how to approach similar questions correctly. This helps them develop independent problem-solving skills instead of relying on memorisation. For students preparing for examinations, I can focus on past questions, common areas of difficulty, examination techniques, time management, and effective problem-solving strategies.
