Advert description
With 15 years experience screening Apprentices, Interns and Graduates for worldwide organisations (inc. financial services, manufacturing and law), I am passionate about helping young people achieve their potential. I understand the challenges with the life’s pressures and how these can build whilst managing increasing and demanding job searches. Staying motivated and positive whilst submitting numerous applications involving time, commitment and research is challenging, especially if balanced with study or part time work. Expectations are high and vacancies limited. With my experience, I am able to get to know individuals quickly, build rapport and support with the distilling of aims and aspirations. Furthermore, I know what it takes to be a good candidate and stand out from the crowd. I am competent advising on many areas, from CV writing through to first and final stage interview preparation and coaching. In addition, I consider student wellbeing to be of vital importance. To evidence this, I am proud to volunteer for a national helpline. This evidences my ability to listen and empathise without judgement, regardless of circumstances, and brings me into contact with the many challenges young people face in life. Furthermore, my ongoing work in Human Resources means I have a strong understanding of employment legislation, the wider job market as well as reasonable adjustments that may be requested, including for those who are neurodiverse. The work of an online student life coach combines my specialist knowledge of recruitment with my professional Human Resources practice as well as my volunteering, which centres on helping others. At home, as a Mum to three teenage children I regularly see young people applying to enter the job market with varying experience, different circumstances and backgrounds. I am passionate about drawing out individual strengths and am ever interested in what is going on for others. I enjoy talking and enquiring, whilst aiming to reduce academic worry and stress, build confidence and develop focus so that all can achieve their potential. I view life as an experience where all can deliver their very best, whilst drawing strength from those around. Supporting young professionals both academically and personally, so that they can show their best rounded selves in all interactions, is of immense importance and value.
