Private tutor with 1-to-1 experience in GCSE maths and statistics. I adhear to the, "see one, do one, teach one" construct. I usually will spend the first few mins running through the concept then letting the student work on a few questions on the given concept, while I watch, to see if they have an understanding of what I have just taught them. Finally I will set them a few questions of varying difficulty for homework.
