Achieving an A* in GCSE English Literature has inspired me to tutor this subject to students studying the AQA exam board!

My teaching experience of being a language teacher, voluntarily working at a primary and secondary school, and tutoring younger students, all between the ages of 7-16, has strengthened my ability to structure lesson plans and adapt my teaching style to individual learning needs. This approach fosters confidence in students, whilst also creating a supportive learning environment. My teaching style is structured yet flexible. By identifying their strengths and weaknesses, I provide various interactive starter activities, blurting techniques and exam-style questions to solidly students’ learning. By creating trigger words, it activates the student’s understanding to critically expand their work which maximises their participation. Alongside building these skills, I encourage students to deeply engage with texts by exploring themes, contexts and symbolism. I aim to help students unlock their academic potential and grow in confidence across all areas of their learning.
