Olá! Tudo bem? (Hello! How are you?) My name is Aline Wilbert, and I’ll be your Portuguese instructor. Muito prazer! (Nice to meet you!) I’m a native speaker from Brazil, and I’ve been teaching languages for more than 15 years. My students have included business professionals, travelers getting ready for a trip, heritage speakers reconnecting with their family’s language, and curious learners starting from zero. I once taught Portuguese and English aboard a ship that sailed to 15 countries. That trip taught me that a language is really a way to connect with people. In our live sessions, we’ll spend most of our time speaking. Please come ready to try, to make mistakes and to laugh a little. Mistakes are how we learn, and nobody expects perfection. I’ll bring real Brazilian Portuguese to our classes, including the expressions, music, food and everyday culture that make the language come alive.
