Advert description
Nutrition can feel confusing when you’re faced with conflicting advice. My aim is to help you understand how food influences the body, connect the science with everyday choices and feel more confident applying what you learn.
I’m Tara, a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist with over 20 years’ experience in natural health. Whether you’re beginning with the basics, studying nutrition or looking for a deeper understanding of hormones, inflammation or metabolic health, I’ll build our sessions around your interests and level of knowledge.
Together, we can explore:
Nutrition foundations: how the body uses protein, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, and how to build balanced meals.
Hormones and food: how nutrition, blood sugar, stress and sleep interact with hormonal health, including changes during perimenopause.
Inflammation: what it does in the body and how dietary patterns, fats, fibre and plant compounds can influence inflammatory processes.
Cardiovascular health: the roles of nutrition in cholesterol, blood pressure and blood vessel function, and how these connect with metabolic health.
Digestion and the microbiome: how we break down food, absorb nutrients and interact with the microbes living in our gut.
Energy and blood sugar: how meal composition, timing and lifestyle influence appetite, energy and insulin sensitivity.
Putting knowledge into practice: interpreting food labels, evaluating nutrition claims and translating what you learn into realistic meals and habits.
My approach is systems-based: I help you understand how different parts of the body work together. For example, a conversation about hormonal health might lead us to explore fibre, gut function and the processing and elimination of hormones. When discussing cardiovascular health, we might connect blood sugar regulation, dietary fats, inflammation and daily movement.
You don’t need a science background. We can start with clear explanations and build towards more detailed physiology and biochemistry as your understanding grows. If you already have some knowledge, we can spend more time exploring mechanisms, examining evidence and thinking critically about common nutrition advice.
Our first session will begin with what you want to learn, what you already understand and where you feel unsure. I’ll then guide you through the topic in manageable steps, using everyday examples and
