Arabic Language Lessons for All Levels from an Experienced Assistant Professor

I am writing to express my interest in a faculty position in Arabic Language, Arabic as a Foreign Language, or a related field at your institution. I am currently an Assistant Professor at Cadi Ayyad University, Marrakech, Morocco, with extensive experience in university-level language education in Morocco and the United Arab Emirates. I hold a PhD in Linguistics, Communication and Translation, a Master’s degree in Interpreting and Translating from the University of Salford, UK, and a second Master’s degree in Translation from the King Fahd School of Translation in Tangier. My academic background provides me with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in linguistics, translation, language teaching, and intercultural communication. My research areas include TESOL, linguistics, translation, teaching Arabic as a foreign language, curriculum design, and educational research. In addition to my university teaching experience in English and linguistics, I have experience teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers. My professional experience includes teaching Arabic to non-Arabs in Manchester, UK, and at Darloughat Institute in Tetouan, Morocco. My background in translation between Arabic and English has also contributed to my understanding of the linguistic and cultural challenges faced by learners of Arabic. My research includes work on translation from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic, including the translation of political discourse and medical terminology. My approach to language teaching is communicative and learner-centred, with an emphasis on helping students develop practical language skills while also gaining an understanding of the linguistic and cultural contexts in which the language is used. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute to an Arabic language programme through teaching, curriculum development, research, and academic service. I believe that my combined background in linguistics, translation, language education, and Arabic language teaching would allow me to contribute effectively to your academic community.
