I give private lessons on line. I teach mainly adults over 18s. If you are struggling to keep up in a multi cultural area.

I have BTEC in Education and Training from Newry college, Armagh, Northern Ireland. My lessons are not formal, and are relaxed but structured and always with a goal. I am particularly interested in the environment, and economics, and history. We will have conversations, both in England and Spanish if you wish. I can recommend text books and reading materials.

I am well travelled, so I can structure lessons around your travel experiences, if you are thinking of becoming a travel writer or similar. I like to interact with my students, and not be too formal. However, if I set homework, then I do expect it to be done.

I taught Spanish for 18 months with the University of the Third Age in Northern Ireland, and got the satisfaction of the students feeding back, especially when they had been to Spain and spoken the language with native speakers. I studied at La Politecnica de Madrid for an ERASMUS year which I really enjoyed. The students did not like speaking English, purely for lack of practice, so every morning I tried to get them to speak English for an hour or so. We used to do reading and writing as well. Their reading was pretty good, as most scientific texts are in English.
All in all I like to give my students variety and to enjoy the learning experience, which should not be considered to be onerous, but enjoyable while the students work towards their own personal goals. The first lesson is free.
