Highly motivated and patient person, aiming to support children from Primary school level of maths to GCSE level

I have a really strong base in both mathematics and sciences, as well as previous experience helping classmates during their GCSE’s to build confidence and strengthen their ability in these topics (some jumping by over two grades). I teach through clear explanations as well as making sure their foundation is perfect as every topic onwards branches of from these core skills, but also tailor my teaching style in a way that would suit the student best. For example, if somebody doesn’t understand the way that probability works, I would first use an example of a coin, 1/2 for heads and the same for tails. Now if I were to flip again, the probability of getting heads or tails is the same however to find the probability of getting the same one twice in a row you would multiply. I would then use more complex scenarios such as dice, but also introduce how certain scenarios are biased and don’t all share the same probability. Using this core knowledge, they can now learn more niche and specific topics such as Venn diagrams, probability trees and so on. Finally, I would introduce the aspect of algebra and solving exam style questions where you need to find the exact probability of Outcome A given the probability of outcome B and outcome A and B happening simultaneously.
