Experienced GCSE English Tutor/Head of English and Examiner Experience

With over 20 years of teaching in two Outstanding schools, I am currently a Head of English with a proven track record of helping students achieve success and confidence in GCSE English Language and Literature.

Alongside my school leadership role, I have been tutoring privately for over 6 years, supporting students across Hertfordshire, including St Albans, Harpenden and Welwyn Garden City, as well as North London. I have experience working with students from both state and independent schools and tailor lessons carefully to individual needs, abilities and target grades.

I am highly knowledgeable across all GCSE English Language and English Literature specifications and exam papers, with particular expertise in AQA. I have also worked as an AQA English Language examiner for 7 years, giving students invaluable insight into exactly what examiners look for and how marks are awarded.
