Advert description
Having travelled and worked abroad in several capacities during and after my time at university, I believe I have sufficient experience for this role. I have worked abroad in Spain as a teacher, teaching different levels of English, from basic to the First Certificate level, as well as the in the UK for Studio Cambridge language school in a summer position, and briefly at Landi in 2018. I´ve also been active in Teaching English, giving private lessons to a student who worked as a guide.
My work at Metrolengua Centro de Idiomas in Spain gave me diverse experience in teaching English as a foreign language, I taught groups of various different levels, including both children and adults. Despite having no prior experience, and only a twenty hour TEFL course
qualification, I achieved positive feedback from my students and was selected to run conversation
classes for students taking important exams. Gaining experience in teaching, I returned to the UK
and worked as a teacher in a summer school, organizing in-depth classes for my students revolving
around themes that the school assigned, such as British culture.
Since gaining teaching experience I went on to take the CELTA course at Oxford House College. I studied different methods of teaching and learnt how to refine and improve my own teaching. I learnt many skills in this course; the importance of student-talking time and to ensure the class maintained interest. I discovered my own strengths and weaknesses on the course and I
believe it has helped make me a better teacher.
In my role as a Field Manager at Máximo Nivel, I taught English to Peruvian students and I also had to give information and advice to people wanting to take the TEFL course that Máximo Nivel offered.
