My lessons are designed to make English Literature feel much more manageable, enjoyable and rewarding. As a 16-year-old Year 12 student who achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English Literature, I understand the pressure students can feel and, importantly, I understand what it is like to be in their position. I want to use what I have learned to help other students develop their confidence and discover that they can genuinely enjoy English Literature.
Every student learns differently, so I will work with each individual to find the revision methods that suit them best. Whether you learn through discussion, writing, active recall, flashcards, practice questions, model answers or a combination of methods, I will adapt lessons around you rather than expecting you to follow one fixed approach.
A major focus of my lessons will be GCSE exam technique. I can help students understand how to structure high-level answers, develop their analysis and use vocabulary that allows them to express sophisticated ideas clearly. We will look closely at how to analyse quotations, explore alternative interpretations, discuss writers’ intentions and connect ideas to themes, characters and context. I will also help students understand what separates a good answer from a Grade 9 response, so they know exactly what they are working towards.
I can create a personalised revision plan based on the student’s current ability, exam board, texts and goals. Lessons can include guided analysis, essay planning, timed practice, feedback and targeted revision of weaker areas.
My goal is not simply to teach students what to revise, but to teach them how to revise, how to think and how to write like a top-grade English Literature student. With consistent effort, the right strategies and a willingness to improve, I want every student to leave my lessons feeling more confident and capable.
