American teacher of math, physics, engineering and astronomy

I have a PhD in physics and all the math required to obtain this degree. I have spent 35 years teaching at the elementary college level. As a part of this, it has been my privilege to spend literally hundreds of hours one-on-one with students, assisting with their understanding of math and physics concepts and problem solving. My approach to tutoring is to try to learn where the student is in her/his/their level of understanding of the subject, then to proceed by asking questions and, where practical, drawing diagrams to facilitate the learning process.

There is no one-size-fits-all process for doing this; therefore, my first session is free and allows the student to determine my fitness to help them.
