Advert description
As a person-centred life coach, my approach to teaching begins with creating a relationship built on trust, respect, and authenticity. I believe that my student’s growth depends on feeling safe, valued, and truly heard, so I will focus on offering empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard at all times.
To build trust, I will listen actively and without judgment, showing that I understand not only what my student says, but also how they feel. I will reflect their thoughts and emotions back to them so they can gain clarity and insight into their own experiences. My tone and body language will communicate warmth, openness, and acceptance — because how I speak is just as important as the words I choose.
Rather than directing or instructing, I will facilitate learning by helping my student discover their own strengths, values, and solutions. This supports Carl Rogers’ belief that every individual has an innate capacity for self-understanding and growth when the right environment is provided.
I will encourage self-reflection, goal setting, and honest communication, ensuring that each session feels collaborative rather than prescriptive. By modelling authenticity and self-awareness, I hope to inspire the same qualities in my student.
Ultimately, my aim is to empower my student to trust their own inner resources, make meaningful choices, and grow in confidence. Through a compassionate, person-centred relationship, I will help them learn not by being told what to do, but by discovering who they truly are.
