I am a native English speaker born in Canada. I graduated from YorkU. Now I am now doing my MA degree and my TEFL certificate

Advert description
I graduated from York University in 2014 after completing an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Creative Writing. I'm currently studying for my master's degree in MA Creative Writing from the British University of Hull program. I also am completing a master's certificate in TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) course soon which is in all 150 hours that I will be learning in order to know even more strategies to teach English. I have taught English offline (before Covid-19). Now I teach online to elementary students and adults. I am a teacher who can help you learn the fundamentals of the English language while understanding your unique goals and tailoring my classes to fit your needs. Whether it's conversations, reading, writing, grammar--or any other aspects of the English language that you need improvement on--I can help you for sure. I'm a kind teacher that will help you on your path to becoming a fluent speaker of English.

Hello Students,

I have 2 years of experience in online teaching but I have studied English Literature and Creative Writing (including critical Essays) my whole academic career. I'm skilled in getting beginner especially young learners and bilingual students to become fluent in English in a short period of time. I concentrate on speaking and writing in my classes. If you can already speak and write then becoming more fluent in our dynamic language of English is what I concentrate on. For young learners, I want them to be able to form sentences then paragraphs and then essays eventually. I want them to be able to memorize words, write them out, and spell them correctly.

I use the platforms Zoom and Google documents that I have collected over the years to teach elementary English. For adults, I usually use the white board and explain a daily topic to them so they can become independent learners of the language of English. We can discuss current events from the newspapers and have a dialogue about them. Especially current events in the world or their specific culture. I listen, prompting the student with questions but for adults I want them to learn how to be engaging in conversation while I correct their pronunciation and diction.

For children, nursery rhyme songs and the hamburger essay method is what I concentrate on since the ways I teach children. Current events and daily topics conversations is how I teach adults. I also cater my classes to your learning levels and abilities.

See you in my class, students!
