I am a qualified and experienced secondary and A-Level/BTEC teacher with over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience. I specialise in Sociology, Health & Social Care, and social sciences & humanities, but I am happy to support a broader range of subjects and study skills. I provide online and in-person lessons tailored to each student’s needs, combining subject expertise with interactive, engaging strategies to build confidence, knowledge, and independent learning skills.

My lessons focus on mastering subject content, developing exam technique, improving study skills, and fostering critical thinking. I use practical examples, discussions, research projects, presentations, and evidence-based teaching methods such as metacognition and spiral learning to help students retain and apply knowledge effectively.

I also offer coaching for future pathways, including university applications, career guidance, and personal development, helping students plan and prepare for the next stage of their education or career.

Throughout my career, I have successfully supported students to improve grades, gain confidence, and achieve their academic goals. I have extensive experience with A-Level and BTEC assessments, am familiar with current exam specifications, and provide targeted revision strategies and practice assessments.
