Experienced Online English Tutor – Build Confidence in Speaking and Grammar

Hello! My name is Otema, and I am a postgraduate student in the UK with a fluent command of English and over five years of tutoring and academic mentoring experience. I am passionate about helping learners improve their English skills and build confidence in both academic and everyday communication.
During my bachelor’s degree, I worked as an academic mentor, supporting undergraduate students across multiple courses, including Communication Skills for Level 100 students. I led organised tutoring sessions, explained course material clearly, and helped students improve their spoken and written English, presentation skills, and academic confidence. After completing my degree, I continued tutoring for a further year, organising structured classes and small-group tutoring sessions to support students with their studies and communication abilities.
Currently, I volunteer with Girlguiding Brownies, where I support young girls after school by helping them develop communication, learning, and confidence-building skills in a friendly and structured environment. This experience has strengthened my ability to teach patiently, adapt lessons to different learning styles, and create a supportive atmosphere for learners of all ages.
