Hi! I'm Chanuthi, a student who recently smashed my GCSEs with top Grade 9s in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I achieved all those grades without having another tutor but myself as my tutor. Further I came to UK about 2 years ago and had to cover 3 years of content within one and half years. To study within that time period, starting from no knowledge at all to achieving grade 9s, I didn't have a magic power but the special tutoring method that I used to teach myself.
As someone who's just been through it all, I know exactly how hard and overwhelming science can feel. That’s why my tutoring style is all about keeping it simple, friendly, and actually fun. FIRSTLY, I'm trying to be more like a friend tutor than a FORMAL TEACHER. This is because I my self had the feeling of sometimes not feeling confident about asking my teacher to explain something to me and also I got lots of friends who felt the same and end up near me asking me to explain something. I'm sure you are feeling the same way too - don't worry it's just the teeny mind. BUT, I got the solution for that. As I'm closer to your age, I believe that you can speak to me more casually than you can talk to your teacher as I would be more like a friend who helps you with the subject rather than your school teacher. SECONDLY, I like to explain every thing you didn't understand in the simplest way that I could possibly find. If you still didn't understand I'll try another method to teach it UNTIL YOU UNDERSTAND IT. THIRDLY, as biology is a content heavy subject, I really like to use memorable tricks—like cheeky mnemonics and silly phrases—that stick in your brain. For example, in chemistry, I was struggling to remember what happens in the displacement reaction. so I had a SILLY PHRASE ''strongest prince will take pretty princess from the weak prince and weak prince will be left alone while the strong prince and princess marry''. If you still didn't get it, what it means is that most reactive will displace the least reactive from the compound. The products will be least reactive by itself and most reactive joined together with the other element in the compound (which the least reactive initially had been bonded to). It might sound silly but it works. Whether you're aiming for higher grades or just want science to make sense, I'm here to help. I completely believe you can trust me on this.
