Beyond Coding: Guiding Students with Skills, Confidence, and Care

I am studying Data Science at the University of Leicester, and I have 1 year tutor as a freelancer during my undergraduate. I have studied Python, R, SQL and can visualise with Tableau.

With me, the key for tutoring is communication, I want to listen to my mentees effectively to understand the needs, the goals and to understand their feeling. Therefore, I not only lead them to success but also motivate and inspire them, make them feel more confident about themselves. I want to ensure that every student I work with feels supported, valued, and capable of mastering programming skills. By being patient, and encouraging, I aim to create a positive learning environment where students not only achieve academic goals but also gain motivation to accomplish their long-term ambitions.

Moreover, with the professional experience, I can share and guide them how to success at work, it is not only about technical skill teaching, it about soft-skills training and advising. I believe tutoring is not only about teaching technical skills but also about preparing students for success beyond the classroom. Drawing on my professional experience at FPT Information System and FPT Smart Cloud, I can share practical insights about how programming and data skills are applied in real projects. I can also guide students on essential soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving — skills that are often just as critical to professional success as technical expertise. By advising mentees on both technical and interpersonal skills, I can help them become more confident, well-rounded, and ready to thrive in both academic and workplace environments.

Everything above is all about my responsibility to push, motivate, caring and support my mentees. With me, I do not want my mentee study like a machine, I want their sprit feel comfortable, and learn more about soft-skills.
