Immersion-based English language lessons

My aim with the first lesson is to establish a baseline with my student. Communication in a language you're not confident in can be intimidating, and many people tend to be insecure about things like their accent, so I make it a priority to create a safe, positive learning environment. I also like to get to know my students - language is a deeply personal part of oneself, as it's how we present ourselves to the world.

After that, we will work together to gauge a more accurate level, and we will discuss areas in which the student would like to improve. It's around this point where I will also introduce some learning materials.

After settling on a regular pace, our focus will shift to maximizing immersion and exposure to subtler changes of tone, intent and vocabulary. Once we've made headway towards comfortable use of the language, we can move to expanding the student's lexicon. This will teach them the finer details needed to express themselves.
