Hi, I’m Rachel, an experienced Art & Design teacher and tutor with nearly 20 years of teaching experience.
I teach a wide range of Art & Design subjects including Fine Art, Graphic Design, Photography and Textiles, from beginner level through to GCSE and A Level. I also have experience as an AQA examiner and moderator, so I can help you understand not only how to develop your creative ideas, but also how to meet assessment criteria and get the most from your coursework and portfolio.
My lessons are tailored to you. We’ll start by looking at what you want to achieve, what you’re currently working on and where you feel you need support. I’ll then help you develop your skills, ideas and confidence through clear guidance, demonstrations, creative challenges and constructive feedback.
I know that Art & Design can sometimes feel overwhelming, particularly when you are unsure what to do next or worried that your work isn't "good enough". My approach is calm, encouraging and practical. I want you to feel comfortable experimenting, making mistakes and finding your own creative style.
Whether you need help with a specific project, GCSE or A Level coursework, portfolio development, exam preparation, developing ideas or simply building your confidence, I can help you find a way forward.
Most importantly, I want my students to become more independent and confident artists and designers, not simply learn how to follow instructions.
