Secondary School English Teacher | KS3 | GCSE

I am a qualified English teacher with several years of experience teaching both KS3 and KS4 (years 7-11) in both mainstream secondary schools and a Pupil Referral Unit.

Most of my GCSE experience is working with AQA, but I am happy to work with students whose schools use other exam boards.

I can offer in depth knowledge and understanding of the following literature texts - A Christmas Carol, The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Frankenstein, An Inspector Calls, Blood Brothers, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, The Tempest, The Merchant of Venice, AQA's Power and Conflict Poetry.

If you are interested in my services, but I have not listed texts you need support with, I am also happy to look over and familiarise myself with the text.

I will work with you and your child as long as needed to support them to achieve their goals according to their needs. My lessons are generally very calm and nurturing to help build confidence, and will move at the pace best suited to your child. For KS3 students I will work to ensure they have the skills they need to succeed, such as inferencing, analysis skills and writing skills. For KS4 students, I will cater sessions to best support their needs, whether that is exam practice with feedback and guidance/support (with or without timed conditions to help build exam time management), studying their texts in closer detail and developing their understanding of the story and ideas within it, or focusing on developing the skills they need to improve their interpretations and responses to texts.
