Advert description
My PGDE was specifically aimed at Training those in the Lifelong learning sector( LLLS) - that is adults who wished to return to education to extend their knowledge of mathematics ; some were aiming to go onto GCSE while others actually aimed at A levels. There were a significant number who admitted that maths had always been a mystery to them but were now determined to master the subject ; they started from a very low level and often struggled at first. In my subsequent experience I was tutoring mainly young people, generally teenagers who were approaching their GCSES, or older teens who were serving apprenticeships, or their maths was not upto standard for their chosen career .I found that the techniques employed for teaching in the LLLS were equally applicable to younger learners who shared the dread of mathematics with their older colleagues in the LLLS. I feel that with patience, determination and an inovative approach we can slay all the demons and convert Maths into the logical, and reasonable subject that it should be. Though the brilliant sunshine of a young and active mind with the thirst to expand their knowledge and excell is every tutors dream.
