I feel that tutoring is about helping students bridge the gap between problem solving and theory. My approach is to start by focussing on problem sets, and fill out the details of the theory that we (me and the student) might be missing on by working together. I prefer to teach online, as it provides the tutor and the student a great deal of safety in terms of control over their immediate physical environment.
