Specialist in Spanish language teaching with sound teaching experience for students of all national backgrounds

Advert description
After 17 years living in different countries, I am now back in Spain and will stay here.
I taught and run departments in universities, the Cervantes Institute, and other educational institutions in Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland, Morocco, the USA, Bahamas, Cyprus, and Vietnam. In addition, I am a Spanish translator; I speak Spanish, English, French, Italian and Portuguese, and have good knowledge of Greek and Arabic.
As a professor, I always make sure that my classes are effective, interesting, and, above all, fun. This is an extremely important point in my way of teaching. I work very hard for my students to WANT to attend my classes, and honestly, I can say that I do achieve this goal.
My teaching (both face-to-face and online) is based on an eclectic method, which takes principal elements from different methodologies, but mainly from the Communicative Approach, and Task Based Approach. I try to bring "real life" into my class and to be no more than a guide for my students. I always focus on helping, speaking, checking, and listening to them. Like this, they can ask whatever question they might need to ask when they are working on one of the
exercises that they have to do in class: work in pairs or in groups, prepare short compositions, (written and/or oral), read aloud, translate, comment on texts, articles, advertisement, videos or movies; participate in debates, write and/or represent dialogues, role plays, research, work in the Internet, etc.
Although my method is mainly communicative, I make sure that my students study Spanish Grammar. I make my students think about grammar structures and, through my questions; I lead them to find answers by themselves. I want them to learn the "Spanish feeling" instead of merely memorizing isolated grammatical structures. Once students understand the way a native Spanish speaker thinks and speaks it is much easier to reproduce the structures when they themselves speak. According to what they say in their evaluations, students feel that their ability to speak and understand Spanish has improved enormously.
I am now ready to transmit this "Spanish feeling" to students from all over the world through my online classes.
Just let me know what you are looking for!!!
Best!
Javier.
