I make music fun for beginners to intermediates

The sessions are based in a relaxed environment where students of all ability are welcome. New skills cannot be learned without making mistakes and putting to much value on perfection rather than enjoyment makes learning music an intimidating experience. I will always explain what we will be aiming to achieve in each session (each session will be bespoke so the goal will always be specific to the students wants, needs and current abilities). During the initial session there will be plenty of space for the student to explain what they would like to achieve on their instrument which means the structure of the sessions will differ from pupil to pupil. Though music theory may not play a large part in the sessions for those who would like to focus more on learning pop songs for example - it is important that the student understands their instrument and are able to correctly fret a string, know the names of the strings and the chords they are playing. Music theory can be taught in a very engaging manner and once students understand why certain notes, frets, strings fit together it can empower them to understand how to create chords and how the guitar is an endless instrument for finding ways to play notes/chords all the way across the neck. For those more interested in music theory it will open up a whole new world of music and allow them to understand why their favourite artists have written a piece in a certain manner. The sessions will always be based around fun, and all learning will be related back to the students goals. My approach will always focus on the pupil having as much playing time as possible and new skills will be taught via the music the pupil enjoys.
