Mathematics class (11+, KS3, GCSE, A‑Level)

My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual learning needs. I begin every session by checking in on the student’s understanding of previous topics, identifying any gaps, and setting a clear goal for the lesson. This helps students feel grounded and confident before we move into new material.

I teach using a step-by-step approach, breaking down mathematical concepts into simple, logical parts so students can understand why something works, not just how to do it. I use worked examples, guided practice, and independent questions to help students build both accuracy and confidence. Throughout the lesson, I encourage students to think aloud, ask questions, and explain their reasoning — this strengthens understanding and builds long-term retention.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, giving us enough time to review, learn, practise, and summarise key takeaways. For younger learners or focused revision sessions, I can adapt the pace and structure to suit their needs.

I have over three years of experience tutoring Mathematics to students aged 11+, including KS3, GCSE, and 11+ preparation. My academic background — a BEng in Computer Science and ongoing MSc in Business Analytics — allows me to explain mathematical ideas clearly and logically, using real-world examples when helpful.

My lessons are calm, encouraging, and student-centred. I aim to create a space where learners feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and developing genuine confidence in their abilities.
