Advert description
Hello, I’m Adam, a practising accountant and bookkeeper with the qualifications MAAT, FICB and PM.Dip.
I would love to bring my practical experience into your learning and help you build confidence in accounting and bookkeeping.
Whether you are starting from scratch, studying towards a qualification, returning to learning or hoping to understand your own business finances, I offer a friendly, supportive approach. My aim is to make unfamiliar topics feel manageable and help you understand both how something works and why it matters.
Accounting can seem confusing when you first encounter its terminology, rules and calculations. I believe learning becomes easier when ideas are explained clearly, broken into smaller steps and connected to practical examples. You can expect straightforward explanations, opportunities to ask questions and time to practise until you feel more comfortable.
Our first lesson will focus on getting to know you, what you want to achieve and the areas where you would like support. We can discuss your current knowledge, any course materials you are using and any deadlines or assessments you are working towards. This will help us agree a useful starting point and realistic goals together.
From there, I will tailor our lessons to your needs. You might want regular support alongside your studies, help understanding a particular topic or a structured introduction to bookkeeping. We can work through examples together, discuss your approach and identify where things become unclear, so that our time is focused on what will help you most.
Depending on your goals, we can explore topics such as double-entry bookkeeping, debits and credits, sales and purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, trial balances and financial statements. I can also help you understand how these elements fit together, giving you a clearer picture of the accounting process rather than leaving you with isolated facts to memorise.
