Science Tutor (Primary to Secondary Level)

As a science tutor, I provide personalised one-to-one support to primary and secondary school students in a range of scientific subjects, including biology, chemistry, and physics. I plan and deliver lessons that are tailored to each student’s individual learning needs, abilities, and goals, helping them to develop a strong understanding of scientific concepts and improve their academic performance.

My role involves explaining complex topics in a clear and engaging way, creating practice activities, marking work, and providing constructive feedback to help students progress. I support students with homework, revision, exam preparation, and building effective study skills. I also adapt my teaching methods to suit different learning styles, ensuring that each student feels comfortable, supported, and motivated throughout their learning journey.

Through this experience, I have developed excellent communication, patience, and organisational skills. Working with students of different ages has taught me how to build positive relationships, encourage confidence, and create a supportive learning environment. I take pride in helping students overcome challenges, improve their understanding, and achieve their academic goals. This role has strengthened my ability to work with young people, demonstrate empathy, and support others in reaching their full potential, skills which are highly valuable in health and social care and other people-focused professions.
