An excellent teacher, great communicator, listener, and motivator

I wish to apply for the Maths Teaching. As a PhD student in Civil and Structural Engineering at the University of Sheffield, I possess a vital experience in teaching mathematics at any educational level including in applied mathematics, engineering optimisation, and quantitative modelling. I possess in-depth knowledge in mathematics, having taken courses in multivariable calculus, matrix algebra, constrained optimisation, and differential equations, which are essential to the teaching mathematics. As a Research Assistant at the University of Sheffield and Rivers State University, I have previously taught these courses independently and in support of a lead lecturer to undergraduate and postgraduate students. I am always clear in my explanations,  interesting, and engaging, helping students to understand and develop confidence in solving problems independently. My focus would be on relevance, application, and student engagement, all of which are consistent with the objectives of a maths teacher to prepare students for quantitative mathematics application. In addition to teaching, I have applied mathematical techniques professionally, as a data scientist at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, where I developed and applied mathematical theories in industrial scale. Such experiences will provide an applied perspective to teaching while equipping students with an understanding of how mathematics underpins practical analysis. I aim to contribute to the successful delivery of this module through my dedication to equity in instruction and communication, which enables me to reach all students, regardless of their background or learning style.
