Course Leader for Access to HE in Business and Law

I have completed BA in Business Management and PGCE in Post Compulsory Education. Since, 2018 and I work for Adult Education in Wolverhampton, where I delivered variety of different courses, for instance: Business Administration, Customer Service and ICT. Currently, I am the course leader for Access to HE in Business and Law pathway, which is a level 3 qualification. I take responsibility for the development, delivery, and evaluation of my own curriculum area. I aim to structure my course (selection of units in line with the awarding body policy) to enable my students to progress onto different degree pathways. Each year, I evaluate the content of my course, and I try to adapt it to the current environments in the business and law field. Being the course leader provided me with the opportunity to monitor outcomes for my students. That includes attendance, retention, achievement, and progression. I am responsible for contacting students during the recruitment process and when their attendance is an issue.
As a teacher, I deliver well-structured, relevant, and engaging lessons using high-quality resources. This is evident throughout reports from my formal observations. In addition, I provide regular feedback to my learners. I would like to highlight that the external moderation report suggested that my feedback should be used as an example across all centers in West Midlands. This would make me suitable for this position, as I would be able to create constructive feedback for students. Furthermore, I am able to identify the needs of my learners. During my observation, my observer suggested that my students are my biggest fans. This demonstrates my commitment and dedication. Very often, I act as a counselling area for my students. Any formal observations that I have experienced where always supported with positive feedback. Recently, my managers have nominated me for the Teacher of the Year Award. This is a big success and achievement for me as a teacher. Furthermore, as a chair of governors for an alternative provision in Sandwell, I lead full governors and committee meetings. I have the ability to communicate important information, and the experience gained at SCS would make me a suitable candidate.
