Advert description
I am an experienced teacher with a background across a number of settings and levels of responsibility.
I have been in Education since 2001 when I took my first role as a TA before qualifying and embarking on my career. This has taken me from leading a highly successful secondary Art department, into pastoral roles, SENDCo, Inclusion Lead, Alternative Provision, Specialist Unit Lead and Assistant Head.
I was in my last post for two years and whilst the change from
Secondary to Primary was challenging it was equally rewarding. I developed my knowledge of the curriculum, and the challenges primary aged children face in accessing it. This was interesting to me as a secondary specialist as there were lots of cross overs. Prior to my employment with Saxmundham primary school, I was a governor on the Saxmundham Primary LAB (local advisory board).
Throughout my career I have fostered positive relationships with all stakeholders, driving and changing the culture within schools and creating more positive outcomes for the children I worked with.
Throughout my career I have had the honour of working with young people from a variety of ethnic/cultural, neuro-divergent and socioeconomic backgrounds. I have always believed that education gives people choice,
and that everyone has the right to quality teaching enabling them to access the curriculum, gain qualifications and thus have choices in life. I lead by positive example, education and empathy. I believe in empowering children to
feel equipped and able to achieve their best. I do this by being a flexible and empathetic teacher whilst always holding high aspirations for all learners, I believe everyone’s path may be different, but we are all able to reach the same destination.
I am experienced in delivering whole school CPD based on data and evidence-based research, I have worked with curriculum lead to develop adaptive teaching strategies that are beneficial to all but essential for some.
I pride myself on the relationships I am able to foster with young people and their families. I do this by being open and honest and communicating with people on a level and in a format that works for them without either patronising or overwhelming. I have a holistic approach to ‘each and every’ child, in my experience this leads to better attendance, engagement and attainment. I aim for every child to learn more and remembe
