I’m Manya, an online GCSE Russian tutor with strong experience in both language learning and teaching. I achieved a Grade 9 in Russian GCSE in Year 10 and an A* in Russian A-Level. I also completed GCSE Spanish, so I'm very familiar with the structure, assessment style, and expectations of modern language exams. One of my recent students has received a grade 9 in their Russian GCSE with top marks.
I have almost four years of experience working with children. I began as a Teaching Assistant at a Russian Saturday School and I am now in my second year as a teacher there. I also have classroom support experience in UK schools (Years 6–9). I hold a current Enhanced DBS check and Safeguarding & Child Protection training.
Having taken online language lessons myself for many years, I understand how to deliver lessons that are engaging, structured, and confidence-building in an online setting. Russian is my second native language (as well as English) and have a strong connection to modern Russian culture (music, film, theatre, and literature), while also fully understanding UK school and exam requirements.
I work patiently, clearly, and supportively with students of all abilities, helping them feel confident in both spoken and written Russian.
