Maths Tutor for KS2, KS3, GCSE (Oxford STEM graduate (1st class); A* at A Level and GCSE Maths)

Advert description
I am a dedicated tutor and experienced research scientist with a first-class Chemistry degree from the University of Oxford. With a strong academic background and passion for teaching, I specialise in Maths tuition, helping students to build confidence, master key concepts, and succeed in their studies.

My qualifications:
- A Levels: Maths (A*), Chemistry (A*), Further Maths (A), Religious Studies (A)
- AS Level: Biology (A)
- FSMQ: Additional Maths (A)
- GCSEs: 10 A*s including Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics

I have over 700 hours experience working with children and young people in educational and outreach settings. I’ve supported students in primary and secondary schools, run after-school activities, and mentored secondary school students in academic development programmes.

I have experience tutoring students 1:1 in Maths, helping them build knowledge, boost confidence, and improve exam performance. A particular highlight for me was tutoring a GCSE student who achieved an A from a predicted grade of D at the start of the academic year.
With a clear understanding of the importance of safeguarding, including a certification for Safeguarding in Schools, your child’s education is in safe hands.

I tailor each session to the individual student, building on their strengths while supporting areas of difficulty. I believe learning should be enjoyable, engaging, and rooted in curiosity.
I would first discuss with the student which areas they find most challenging and what they feel they most need to improve on. From this, I would then adapt my tutoring approach to find ways to best explain ideas to improve their understanding and develop their problem-solving skills, which is particularly important as exams have become more synoptic.
