Primary, 11+, KS3, Science GCSE, UCAT and medicine interview tutor with a tailored teaching style

I’m an experienced and enthusiastic tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students reach their full potential. I began tutoring during sixth form, where I started a volunteer program offering support to students in Years 5–8 who were struggling with Maths and English. Since then, I’ve continued to tutor students across various age groups, focusing on building both subject knowledge and confidence. I primarily teach on Zoom or Google Meets. In my lessons, I begin by covering key content tailored to the student’s exam board, followed by guided practice using past paper questions to secure understanding. I then work with students to refine their exam technique by breaking down mark schemes and modelling high-level answers. I always allow time for students to ask questions or address any specific difficulties, making each session as personalised and effective as possible. I also occasionally set questions for students to complete between lessons to help reinforce their learning. Academically, I achieved 9 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s at GCSE and scored 41 points in the International Baccalaureate, having self-taught IB Biology Higher Level in just one year and achieved the top grade. I also went to a top girl’s grammar school, so am familiar with the 11+ process, having undergone it myself. I’m also confident in providing guidance and support for the UCAT and medical school interviews, having scored in the top 3% of applicants in the 2024 UCAT (including a Band 1 in Situational Judgement). I am also able to help students improve their personal statement, including editing and cutting down words, having helped numerous students last year with their own. I’m keen to help other students unlock that same potential, whether they’re aiming to build confidence, improve their grades, or take the next step towards a future in medicine.
