Advert description
I am a friendly, patient and supportive Applied Clinical Psychology student at the University of Reading, with a strong interest in helping students develop their confidence and reach their academic goals. I have experience supporting younger students through informal tutoring, including helping my younger brothers with their GCSE work. I have also volunteered with children aged 11–18, where I helped run activities and adapted my approach to suit different needs and abilities.
My lessons are designed to be relaxed, encouraging and personalised to each student. I understand that every student learns differently, so I will take time to identify areas they find difficult and explain concepts in a clear, straightforward way. Rather than simply giving students the answers, I will help them understand the reasoning behind them so they can become more independent and confident learners.
I can help with understanding key topics, revising content, practising exam questions, improving exam technique and preparing for assessments. I will use a mixture of explanations, examples, questions and active recall to make lessons engaging and memorable. I am also happy to adapt lessons around the student's pace, strengths and areas for improvement.
My aim is to create a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning from them. Whether a student needs help understanding a particular topic, wants to improve their exam technique, or simply needs some extra confidence, I will provide patient and encouraging support throughout.
