Studying maths and wanting a little extra help or one-to-one practice? Hi, I would love to help you achieve the grades you deserve

Advert description
Hi, I'm Kulthoom and I am motivated to tutor KS1-3, GCSE and A-level students in maths.

About Me:
My recent experience as a student getting my GCSE results in 2020 and sitting my A-levels in 2022 provides me with a better understanding of the curriculum and the expectations held by teachers and examiners today.
I am friendly, enthusiastic and patient with all my students. I aim to eagerly listen to the student's needs and help them achieve and, in most cases, exceed their target grades.

Experience:
I have previously tutored secondary school students in preparation for GCSEs. This resulted in Level 3-5 students achieving, on average, a 2 level increase after 10 consistent 45-60 minute sessions and Level 6-8 students achieving, on average, a 1 level increase after 7 consistent 45-60 minute sessions.

Approach:
Each student is unique so my teaching methods differ to suit individuals and their needs. The basic structure, however, is first getting an insight on what topics the student needs help with and how much they already know. Then, I provide them with a better understanding through multiple different explanations and examples until I can see they have fully grasped the concept. Finally, I work through questions with them so they can see how to approach a variety of questions and the step by step process needed to answer them. I then like to give them relevant worksheets to work through aloud as I believe vocalising problems allows the brain to visualise better and helps me also ensure they are efficient and correct with their working. The questions get progressively more difficult but are done under supervision so I can always step in if the student reaches one that they are not yet ready to tackle. By covering a range of questions together, I aim to prepare them for any type of question thrown at them in exams.

Availability:
Currently, I am available until 16:45 on weekdays and most weekends. It would be great to discuss your availability and work out sessions that best fit into your busy week.

If you have any questions regarding the sessions or anything seen on my profile, please do not hesitate to contact me.
