Advert description
Hello, I'm Sarah, a fully qualified mathematics teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics. I have over seven years of experience teaching and tutoring students from KS2 through to GCSE, supporting learners of all abilities to develop both their mathematical skills and confidence.
I believe that success in mathematics starts with confidence. My aim is not simply to teach methods, but to help every student believe that they can do maths. Once confidence grows, progress naturally follows.
Every lesson is carefully tailored to the individual student. Whether a child needs support filling gaps in understanding, is preparing for SATs or GCSE examinations, or is aiming for the highest grades, I adapt my teaching to suit their learning style and pace. I use regular informal assessments to identify misconceptions, ensuring each lesson builds on secure foundations.
My lessons are structured, engaging and supportive. Students begin with carefully selected retrieval and skill-check questions before moving on to new learning and exam-style problem solving. I place a strong emphasis on mathematical reasoning, explaining methods clearly, recognising patterns and developing independent thinking rather than simply memorising procedures.
I have experience supporting students with dyslexia, autism, ADHD and other additional learning needs. I understand that every learner is different and pride myself on creating a calm, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and challenging themselves.
I teach all major GCSE exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and WJEC, as well as KS2 and KS3 mathematics. I provide high-quality resources, optional homework, detailed lesson feedback for parents, and ongoing support between lessons where appropriate.
If you're looking for a patient, experienced and enthusiastic mathematics tutor who genuinely cares about every student's progress, I'd love to help your child reach their full potential.
