Advert description
My approach to teaching Italian is friendly, practical and tailored to each individual learner. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable and confident, so I create a supportive environment where they are encouraged to speak Italian without being afraid of making mistakes.
I adapt each lesson according to the student’s level, age, interests and objectives. Some learners may want to improve their conversational Italian for travel or everyday life, while others may need a more structured approach to grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing.
Having taught Italian at GCSE and A Level, I am also comfortable working with students who need structured lessons and support with their studies and examinations. My many years of private tuition with adults have taught me the importance of adapting my style to different learners and progressing at a pace that works for them.
I like to make Italian relevant to real life. I would use conversation, practical situations, reading, listening exercises and appropriate grammar work, gradually introducing new vocabulary and encouraging the learner to use it naturally.
Most importantly, I want my students to enjoy learning Italian and develop the confidence to actually use the language. I aim for lessons to be engaging, encouraging and personalised rather than following exactly the same method with every student.
