GCSE and A Level Maths and Physics tutor

Advert description
I am a recent PhD Physics graduate from King's College London with 3 years of tutoring experience of various ages for Maths and Physics as well as teaching experience for university students up to Master's level. I understand everyone has different ways of learning topics and at varying speeds so I aim to personally tailor the learning experience for each student in the most effective but also comfortable way possible. I use a variety of materials and formats to help the student understand a topic thoroughly and be able to apply their knowledge confidently.

I can offer a flexible schedule to suit your timing needs and will be happy to chat with you about your academic goals. So feel free to reach out to schedule your first lesson.
Steve in a nutshell
I use a writing tablet with a shared screen to help the student visualise the content that is being taught and to break down the topics and delve as deeply as the student feels comfortable which may involve discussing each step in the solving process to a level that is appropriate to their knowledge. I also like to interact with the student by asking them questions and have them ask me questions...
I use a writing tablet with a shared screen to help the student visualise the content that is being taught and to break down the topics and delve as deeply as the student feels comfortable which may involve discussing each step in the solving process to a level that is appropriate to their knowledge. I also like to interact with the student by asking them questions and have them ask me questions throughout not only to gauge their level of understanding but also to keep them engaged during the session - it's more like a chat and not a lecture after all!

After teaching a topic or revisiting topics during future sessions I may set customised questions relating to the topic and have the student solve it together during the session and talk to me about how they would approach the problem. Often times teaching is itself a great way to learn and solidify understanding of the content.

In every session I will always endeavour to make the session as engaging and comfortable for the student. That means finding out how the student best learns and going from there. Anything from going over topics taught at school and filling the gaps or helping with homework to learning new topics not yet covered depending on the student's confidence and ability.
