Advert description
I have worked as a private tutor since 2018, supporting students in mathematics from GCSE through to university entrance preparation. Alongside helping students achieve strong exam results, I aim to develop deeper mathematical understanding and problem-solving ability. My approach is not simply about learning methods, but about understanding why things are true, how to think like a mathematician, and how to approach unfamiliar challenges with confidence.
In recent years, I have specialised in university admissions preparation, particularly for Oxford, Cambridge, and other highly competitive institutions. I provide tailored support for the MAT, STEP, and TMUA, as well as running realistic mock interviews to help students prepare for the unique challenges of the Oxbridge process. Having served as an Oxford admissions interviewer for three years, I can accurately assess a student’s chances and offer clear, practical guidance on how to demonstrate potential most effectively. Many of my students have gone on to secure offers from top universities.
Academically, I am a pure mathematician with particular interests in geometry and algebra. I hold a PhD and MSc from the University of Oxford and a BSc from the University of Bristol. Combining this academic background with years of tutoring experience, I provide a structured, supportive, and engaging environment where students can unlock their confidence, strengthen their skills, and achieve their goals.
Available for both online work, as well as in-person tuition in both Oxford and Bristol.
